Meet Dr. Allison: Biography
Dr. Allison is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). He is also a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS), the Orthopedic Trauma Association (OTA), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and the American Orthopedic Association (AOA).
Meet Dr. Allison: An Innovator in Orthopedic Oncology
As an orthopedic oncologist with extensive training and experience, Dr. Allison is a recognized leader in the treatment of malignant tumors of the musculoskeletal system, including soft tissue sarcomas, primary bone sarcomas, metastatic bone cancer, and invasive skin cancers of the back, pelvis, shoulder girdle, and extremities. Dr. Allison is also renowned for his expertise in advanced bone and joint reconstruction for any condition. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in the fields of orthopedic oncology and advanced reconstruction, and he has lectured physicians across the world on these subjects.
Dr. Allison is one of a select few surgeons with longstanding expertise in the direct anterior approach to hip replacement and is the designer of a one-of-a-kind patented anterior hip retractor system to allow the procedure to be performed more precisely and with the use of a standard operating table. His goal is to help all surgeons perform the anterior approach to hip replacement by training them in his minimally invasive technique and helping them shorten their learning curve.

Dr. Daniel Allison has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored several book chapters. He has spoken across the country and the globe at surgical society meetings on the topics of complex joint reconstruction, treatment of orthopedic complications, and management of musculoskeletal tumors, where he has presented numerous research papers, abstracts, and teaching demonstrations. He has also served on the editorial board and as a reviewer for several renown peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Daniel Allison also earned his Medical Degree with Honors from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He received postgraduate training at the University of Southern California (USC) + Los Angeles County Medical Center, where he completed combined orthopedic and general surgery internship, orthopedic surgery residency, and fellowship training in musculoskeletal oncology and pelvic reconstruction.
